Dr Shahrzad Irannejad Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist and a member of the Order of Psychologists of Quebec (OPQ). She holds a Ph.D. degree in School and Applied Child Psychology from McGill University. She has worked with children, preteens and their families, as well as with adults, during and after her graduate training.
Shahrzad has completed part of her training at the Dept. of Child Psychiatry at the Jewish General Hospital, working with children presenting different emotional and behavioural difficulties, and with their families. She has also worked with university students dealing with anxiety, ADHD and other types of learning disabilities. As part of her training, Shahrzad has also completed CBT workshops with focus on depression, anxiety, and OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) in children, adolescents, and adults. She has led CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy)-based groups for children focusing on anger management problems and low self-esteem, and for adults dealing with test anxiety. Prior to joining The Montreal Center for Anxiety & Depression, Shahrzad was involved in the ADHD research that investigated treatment at the Department of Psychiatry at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, working with adults as well as parents of preteens diagnosed with ADHD (attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder).
