Francine Gauvin received her M.A. in Counselling Psychology at McGill University and is a member of l’Ordre des Psychologues du Québec. She completed a post-master’s speciality in Sex & Couples therapy from the Allan Memorial Institute and worked 14 years in a university counseling center providing therapy to students in distress and mentoring Masters and Doctoral level students completing their practicums and internships.
As a psychologist, Francine’s clinical experience encompasses a wide range of issues including difficulties related to anxiety, depression, sexuality, anger management, and relationship distress. Her approach is integrative, drawing on Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral treatments. In an atmosphere of support and guidance, Francine works with individuals looking to make positive changes to their lives by better understanding their concerns and then work towards developing adaptive behaviours, devising new strategies to recurring problems and ultimately, build strength and resilience.
